Rev Richard Teal, Chair of District
- On a map Cumbria is the bit that
sticks out into the Irish Sea just north of Morecambe Bay - about as far north
as you can go up the west coast of England without crossing the Scottish
border. Cumbria contains the Lake District and lots of tourists. Wordsworth was
born here. So was Stan Laurel. We have the highest mountain in England and the
deepest lake. We are famous for Herdwick sheep, Cumberland sausage and Kendal
mint cake. And we have 115 Methodist churches within twelve Circuits. See more information on our circuits here....
- Together with the URC and
Church of England, we signed a Declaration of Intent in 2011, to work together
within our county and beyond. This has since expanded to include the Salvation Army and Baptist Church within Cumbria. And we've got some great ideas for the future!
